Description of Role and Responsibilities
The Saints Esports Marketing and Events Manager is responsible for developing, implementing and executing strategic marketing plans and will be the event lead for all events run within the facility that fall outside of regular varsity activity. The Saints Esports Marketing and Events Manager will also provide assistance in areas of need to facilitate continued growth of the esports program.
Location: This position is in-person on our main campus in Windsor, Ontario, Canada
REPORTS TO: The Esports Director (Primarily); with some direction from the Assistant Esports Director
Specific Duties
Work closely with the Esports Director to build and execute a holistic event management plan for the Nexus and esports programs
Facilitate and coordinate esports events including but not limited to collegiate tournaments, high school tournaments, elementary school tournaments, and tournaments open to the general public
Create and oversee youth esports camps
Create and oversee weekly/intramural esports events to engage the student body
Serve as the initial point of contact for external event bookings in the Nexus including but not limited to birthday parties, field trips, corporate outings, and third-party operator esports tournaments
Create and manage rule sets and tournament format documentation
Build brackets and schedules for esports events on campus
Coordinate with production team for broadcasting of on-campus events
Coordinate the marketing efforts for proper advertising and promotion of events
Keep up to date with new esports titles, events, and marketing trends
Build and oversee an annual events budget
Responsible for staffing esports events on campus with a mix of student work-study, scholarship, volunteer, academic placement, and third-party labour as necessary
Work closely with the Esports Director to build and execute a holistic marketing plan for the esports programs
Build and oversee an annual marketing budget
Oversee social media accounts and websites to engage existing customers and establish positive public relations
Implement search engine optimization (SEO) in online media
Communicate and negotiate with ad agencies, employees, marketing staff, editors, and writers
Produce short and long-form content that highlights the teams, players, and events to build and cement the legacy of the Saints as a top tier program
Produce activations to build and maintain relationships with program partners and sponsors
Track monthly Key Performance Indicators as it pertains to marketing and event management activities
Directly supervises marketing staff including a mix of student work-study positions as well as scholarship, volunteer, and academic placement positions on occasion
Health & Safety duties as assigned
Perform other duties as assigned by the Esports Director
Desirable Professional Qualifications
Diploma or degree in a related field or discipline
Candidate should have a strong understanding of esports
Should be a creative thinker who is eager to put their ideas into action
Must possess excellent organizational and time management skills
Must possess excellent knowledge and understanding of esports marketing
Video editing and graphic design experience considered an asset
Strong communication skills
Minimum of one year of experience working in esports
Demonstrated strong interpersonal and problem-solving skills
Ability to work a flexible schedule, including weekends, and evenings
Ability to travel with teams as required
Drivers license is an asset
Must have a passport or be willing to acquire one for international travel
Compensation and Benefits
Salary Range: $40,000-50,000 CAD
